Mechanical Engineering

The Department was established in the year 2004. The Department has excellent lab facilities with the state of art equipment and it has highly qualified, experienced and committed faculty members. M.E Engineering Design is offered by the Mechanical Engineering Department from 2011. The Department gives importance not only to academic education but also ethical values and personality development of students. The students of Mechanical Engineering Department regularly organize various technical and extracurricular events under the banner of Mechanical Engineering Students Association.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has an association named “Bernoulli’s Mechanical Engineering Association for Successful Students (BEMASS)”. The Association carry out several activities throughout the academic year to keep the students in pace with the recent developments in the field of Science, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Design. The activities of the association include Seminars, Group Discussions, Debates, Paper Presentations, Quiz, Puzzles, Design Contests, Career Guidance Programs, Mock Interviews and Symposiums.

Activities of Be-MASS:

  • The Mechanical Engineering Association “Be-MASS” was inaugurated on 24.08.2014 for the academic year 2014-2015. The Chief guest for function was Mr.S.Velmurugan B.E.,M.B.A.,Divisional Manager, Special Vechiles,Ashok Leyland,Chennai.


  • A one day National level technical symposium “Einstein’s MechZcaliber’15” was conducted on 21-02-2015. More than 160 participants around Tamilnadu have participated in the symposium. The Chief Guest for function was Mr. G. Subhash, Managing Director, M/s. Sai Flexi bag Pvt. Ltd., Tuticorin.
  • A one day Seminar on title “Avenues in the field of Marine for Mechanical Engineering Students” was conducted on 25-02- 2015. The speaker of the day was Er. Hearto Fernando Agnello Mario, First Engineer, NYK Ship Management, Singapore.


  • Mechanical Engineering Department conducted one week “Short term training program on CNC Turning" for ITI students. More than 25 students got trained in the operations of CNC Machine.

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Chapter:
Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) was established in India for the support to our nation through technology. For that all the technical institutions are installed withthe ISTE chapter. The ultimate aim for the ISTE Staff/Student Chapter is to enrich their knowledge in advance and improve them in lateral thinking for the society and the nation.
In our college, ISTE Student chapter was established on 2007. The membership number is TN229. Every year, ISTE Student Chapter conducts Orientation/Aptitude/Personality Development Program for Students beneficiary. ISTE Student Chapter is also giving the GATE/TOFEL coaching for the students.
In our college, ISTE Staff chapter was established in 2008. The Institutional membership number is IM1571. Every year, ISTE Staff Chapter conducts Faculty Development Program (FDP) for the staff’s.

Activities of ISTE:

  • ISTE Chapter Conducted “A panel discussion on the importance of counseling the students”.
  • ISTE Chapter Conducted a “National Board of Accreditation (NBA) awareness program”.
  • ISTE Chapter Conducted “A panel discussion on systematic approach for academic performance with co-ordination”.
  • ISTE Chapter Conducted a one day workshop on “Phonetics”.
  • ISTE Chapter Conducted a “Program on writing scientific grant proposal”.
  • ISTE Chapterconducted a Programme on “Methodology to apply the grant proposal”.
  • ISTE Chapterconducted a Programme on “Skill development to write research proposal and technical paper”.
  • ISTE chapter conducted the “Student orientation program on soft skill development” for final years.



IE (India) Mechanical Division Students’ Chapter:
The Institution of Engineers(India) was registered under the Indian Companies Act, 1913 in the year 1920 at Madras and was formally inaugurated in 1921 by Lord Chelmsford, the then Viceroy and Governor General of India. The Institution of Engineers (India) was granted the Royal Charter of Incorporation 1935 by his Majesty the King George V of England in 1935, “to promote and advance the science, practice and business of engineering in all its branches in India”. The Institution of Engineers (India) is a unique professional body encompassing 15 engineering disciplines and with an overall membership of over 0.5 million.
Various types of technical activities organized by the Mechanical Engineering Division including All India Seminars, All India Workshops, Lectures, Panel Discussions etc., at various State/Local Centres of the Institution. Apart from these, National Convention of Mechanical Engineers, an Apex activity of this Division is also organized each year on a particular theme approved by the Council of the Institution.
In our college, IE (India) Mechanical Division Students’ (627012/ECE/MC) Chapter was inaugurated on 23rd January, 2013. Students from First year to Final students have their names enrolled in the students’ chapter. Till now a total of 132 students are members in the Mechanical Division. For every three months the chapter organizes various activities like Aptitude skills and training, Workshops, Seminars, Value Added Courses on CNC, Soft skills etc. During the academic year 2013-14, IEI Mechanical Division Students’ chapter organized a placement programme for the student members and a total of 30 students got placed. In the same year the chapter also organized an Industrial visit to Sheshayee Paper Mills (P) Ltd to understand the technical activities correlated with their UG Course.




Activities of IE:

  • One day seminar on the topic, “Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS” was organized by the Mechanical Engineering division of IE(I) students’ chapter.


  • Institution of Engineers (India) STUDENTS Chapter (Mechanical Division) organized a Lecture program for the final year students, on the topic “Managerial Roles”.
  • A Lecture was arranged on the topic, “Research in the field of Engineering” was organized by the IE(I) MC division students’ Chapter and Research Cell of Einstein College of Engineering.


  • Technical Aptitude Test was conducted for the students of Final year Mechanical Engineeringby Institution of Engineers (India), Students Chapter [MC division].
  • A Campus Drivefor final year Mechanical Engineering Students was arranged by the Placement Cell and IE(I) students’ chapter of MC division.


  • The Final year students of Mechanical Engineering was a given a Hands on training in CNC programming and CNC Lathe Machine.
  • An Industrial Visit is arranged for the third year students of various departments included in the student’s chapter of Institution of Engineers (India) for gaining knowledge in the technical point of view.
